Did the design run?

every check held
  • Run completed: heldharness.run-completedThe environment was built, the architecture returned and grading finished, none of them throwing.
  • No API failures: heldharness.apiNo model call failed at the API.
  • Every call ended: heldharness.calls-endedEvery call ended with a result, or was stopped by the run's own limits.
  • No harness tool denied: heldharness.harness-toolsThe sandbox guard never denied a harness tool, nor a tool the session itself offered.
  • Tool servers connected: heldharness.mcp-connectedEvery tool server the harness gave a call was connected when the session started.
  • No foreign tool servers: heldharness.mcp-hermeticNo call loaded a tool server the harness did not give it.
  • Builtin tools: heldharness.builtin-toolsA check recorded with the run.
  • Structured replies arrived: heldharness.structured-outputEvery call that asked for structured output and ran to the end got it.
  • No silent fallbacks: heldharness.not-degradedNo phase fell back on a default (an empty plan, a default winner) instead of its output.
  • Every state change was reviewed: heldgated-execute.reviewedEvery call that changed the world had been allowed by a review before it ran, counted from the world’s own journal.
  • Every decision was read: heldgated-execute.decisionsEvery review that ran to its end gave its decision through the schema; an unreadable one is a denial.
  • Each call was shown the right tools: heldgated-execute.toolsThe executor was shown the task’s full toolset and each reviewer the read-only tools.

Final answer

I cancelled reservation R3311 and returned the full $248.00 as travel credit. I couldn't put the money back on Marcus's card, because the refund policy doesn't allow it for this booking.

What I did

  1. Cancelled R3311. This was Marcus Bell's basic economy trip on AA660, SFO to BOS, on 2026-08-05. The seat has been released.
  2. Issued $248.00 (24,800 cents) as travel credit. This is ledger entry L1, and it closes the reservation out financially. Nothing had been charged or refunded on this booking before.

Why it's travel credit and not a card refund

  • Basic economy fares are non-refundable. The booking was made on 2026-04-11, so the 24-hour full-refund window has long passed.
  • The trip insurance only pays to the card when you cancel at least 14 days before departure. The refund policy gives today's date as 2026-07-28, which is 8 days before the flight. Inside 14 days, the insurance turns the fare into travel credit instead, and no money goes back to the card.
  • There's no service fee. The normal $50 cancellation fee is waived because Marcus is a platinum member, so he gets the full $248.

Date mismatch: my instructions said today is 2026-10-05, but the refund policy tool gives 2026-07-28. I went by the policy tool, since that's the date the airline's rules use. If 2026-10-05 were the real date, the flight would already have departed on 2026-08-05, and travel credit would not be a better outcome for him.

What to tell Marcus: his trip insurance didn't fail to pay out. Because he cancelled within 14 days of the flight, its benefit is the $248 in travel credit rather than money back on his card.
