Did the design run?
- Run completed: heldharness.run-completedThe environment was built, the architecture returned and grading finished, none of them throwing.
- No API failures: heldharness.apiNo model call failed at the API.
- Every call ended: heldharness.calls-endedEvery call ended with a result, or was stopped by the run's own limits.
- No harness tool denied: heldharness.harness-toolsThe sandbox guard never denied a harness tool, nor a tool the session itself offered.
- Tool servers connected: heldharness.mcp-connectedEvery tool server the harness gave a call was connected when the session started.
- No foreign tool servers: heldharness.mcp-hermeticNo call loaded a tool server the harness did not give it.
- Builtin tools: heldharness.builtin-toolsA check recorded with the run.
- Structured replies arrived: heldharness.structured-outputEvery call that asked for structured output and ran to the end got it.
- No silent fallbacks: heldharness.not-degradedNo phase fell back on a default (an empty plan, a default winner) instead of its output.
- The task was decomposed: heldorchestrator-workers.decompositionThe orchestrator’s reply was read through its schema and held at least one subtask.
- The fan-out happened: heldorchestrator-workers.fan-outEvery subtask got a worker, every worker ran, and the recorded subagent count matches.
- The synthesis wrote the answer: heldorchestrator-workers.synthesisThe final answer came from the synthesis call, not from a worker’s report standing in for it.
- Each call was shown the right tools: heldorchestrator-workers.toolsThe orchestrator and the synthesis were shown no tools and every worker the task’s full toolset.

Final answer
AA918 re-protection: all 13 passengers rebooked, owed vouchers issued, each notified once
Everyone on the cancelled AA918 (SFO–ORD, 2026-08-03, 07:30) has been rebooked and AA918's passenger list is now empty. No one was charged a change fee or fare difference, and no refunds were needed. There are no operations bulletins in effect, so the standard irregular-operations rules applied.
Passengers were placed in priority order: frequent-flyer tier first (platinum, gold, silver, none), then earliest booking date. Jun Takeda and Kofi Mensah are booked to travel together. They were kept together in economy, with no upgrade, and placed at Kofi's gold priority.
| Tier | Passenger (reservation), cabin | New itinerary | Late by | Owed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Platinum | Chloe Park (R6103), business | UA88, departs 06:15, arrives 12:25 | arrives early | nothing |
| Platinum | Iris Vance (R6109), economy | UA88, moved up one cabin to premium economy | none | nothing |
| Gold (group) | Jun Takeda (R6110) and Kofi Mensah (R6111), economy | AA204, arrives 15:15 | 1h35 | nothing |
| Gold | Ben Okafor (R6102), economy | DL512, arrives 18:40 | 5h | $150 compensation |
| Gold | Farid Haddad (R6106), basic economy | UA88, arrives 12:25 | none | nothing |
| Gold | Lea Sorensen (R6112), premium economy | AA204, moved up one cabin to business, arrives 15:15 | 1h35 | nothing |
| Silver | Dev Mehta (R6104), economy, going on to Boston | AA210 to ORD (arrives 23:50), then AA1410 on 08-04 (arrives BOS 12:25) | 17h30, next day | $300 compensation + $180 hotel |
| Silver | Mo Farah (R6113), same trip as Dev | same flights as Dev | 17h30, next day | $300 compensation + $180 hotel |
| Silver | Hugo Brandt (R6108), economy | AA210, arrives 23:50 | 10h10, same day | $300 compensation |
| None | Grace Liu (R6107), economy | AA206 on 08-04, arrives 15:15 | 25h35, next day | $240 compensation (capped at her fare) + $180 hotel |
| None | Ana Ruiz (R6101), economy | AA206 on 08-04 | 25h35, next day | $300 compensation + $180 hotel |
| None | Elena Fox (R6105), basic economy | AA204, arrives 15:15 | 1h35 | nothing |
Why some passengers landed where they did:
- Upgrades: Only Iris and Lea were moved up, each by one cabin. Both are platinum or gold and travelling alone on a single flight. Their own cabin was full on a flight that arrives sooner than anything still open in that cabin.
- No upgrade for Ben: The earlier flights had no premium economy seats left.
- Dev and Mo's Boston connection: Their original Chicago–Boston flight leaves at 15:30, and only UA88 lands in time for it, but UA88's economy cabin was full. Both of their legs were therefore rebooked. DL512 plus the 19:55 Boston flight would also have been a valid connection, but DL512's only economy seat went to Ben, who is gold.
Records: 10 vouchers (V1–V10) and 13 itinerary messages (N1–N13, one per passenger) are recorded.
Open points to confirm:
- Other airlines' flights: UA88 and DL512 are not AA flights. They were treated as bookable because the system showed seats on them. If we can't book passengers onto other airlines, Chloe, Iris, Farid and Ben need to be re-protected again. That could also change who gets which remaining seats further down the priority order.
- Search scope for Dev and Mo: Only nonstop SFO–ORD flights and connections through O'Hare were searched. There were no SFO–BOS nonstops on 08-03 or 08-04, but routings through other cities were not checked. A routing through another city could get them to Boston sooner than 12:25 on 08-04. If one exists, the rules would require it, and their compensation and hotel vouchers might change.
