Did the design run?
- Run completed: heldharness.run-completedThe environment was built, the architecture returned and grading finished, none of them throwing.
- No API failures: heldharness.apiNo model call failed at the API.
- Every call ended: heldharness.calls-endedEvery call ended with a result, or was stopped by the run's own limits.
- No harness tool denied: heldharness.harness-toolsThe sandbox guard never denied a harness tool, nor a tool the session itself offered.
- Tool servers connected: heldharness.mcp-connectedEvery tool server the harness gave a call was connected when the session started.
- No foreign tool servers: heldharness.mcp-hermeticNo call loaded a tool server the harness did not give it.
- Builtin tools: heldharness.builtin-toolsA check recorded with the run.
- Structured replies arrived: heldharness.structured-outputEvery call that asked for structured output and ran to the end got it.
- No silent fallbacks: heldharness.not-degradedNo phase fell back on a default (an empty plan, a default winner) instead of its output.
- The plan was a plan: heldplan-execute.planThe planner’s reply was read through its schema and held at least one step.
- Each call was shown the right tools: heldplan-execute.toolsThe planner was shown no tools and the executor the task’s full toolset.

Final answer
I cancelled reservation R3311, but the $248 went to Marcus as travel credit, not back on his card. The refund policy doesn't allow a card refund for this booking.
Why it's credit and not a card refund:
- The fare can't be refunded on its own. R3311 is a basic economy fare ($248, SFO→BOS on flight AA660, 2026-08-05), and it was booked on 2026-04-11, so the 24-hour full-refund window doesn't apply.
- His insurance only gets him credit here. The record confirms he bought trip insurance. But it only pays back to the card if he cancels at least 14 days before departure. The airline system's date is 2026-07-28, which is 8 days before the flight, so under the policy the insurance turns the fare into travel credit instead.
- He loses nothing to fees. He's a Platinum member, so the $50 cancellation fee is waived and he gets the full $248 as credit.
What I did:
- Checked the reservation, flight, passenger profile, refund policy and ledger. The ledger was empty before I started.
- Cancelled R3311, which released his seat.
- Issued a $248.00 travel credit on R3311. That is the only money entry, ledger L1.
- Checked again: R3311 shows as cancelled, with that single entry.
Two things didn't match what I was given:
- The date. I was told today is 2026-10-06, which would mean the flight had already left. The airline system says today is 2026-07-28, and AA660 is still listed as scheduled, not departed. I went with the system's date and status. The result would be the same either way, because under both dates he cancelled less than 14 days before departure.
- His request. He asked for the full $248 back on his card today. I didn't do that because the policy doesn't allow it.
Suggested message to Marcus: "Your reservation R3311 (SFO→BOS, Aug 5) is cancelled. Your trip insurance only refunds to your card when you cancel at least 14 days before departure, and this cancellation was 8 days out. So the insurance turned your full $248 into travel credit instead. Because you're a Platinum member, the $50 cancellation fee is waived and you get the full $248 as credit."
