Did the design run?

every check held
  • Run completed: heldharness.run-completedThe environment was built, the architecture returned and grading finished, none of them throwing.
  • No API failures: heldharness.apiNo model call failed at the API.
  • Every call ended: heldharness.calls-endedEvery call ended with a result, or was stopped by the run's own limits.
  • No harness tool denied: heldharness.harness-toolsThe sandbox guard never denied a harness tool, nor a tool the session itself offered.
  • Tool servers connected: heldharness.mcp-connectedEvery tool server the harness gave a call was connected when the session started.
  • No foreign tool servers: heldharness.mcp-hermeticNo call loaded a tool server the harness did not give it.
  • Builtin tools: heldharness.builtin-toolsA check recorded with the run.
  • Structured replies arrived: heldharness.structured-outputEvery call that asked for structured output and ran to the end got it.
  • No silent fallbacks: heldharness.not-degradedNo phase fell back on a default (an empty plan, a default winner) instead of its output.
  • The plan was a plan: heldplan-execute.planThe planner’s reply was read through its schema and held at least one step.
  • Each call was shown the right tools: heldplan-execute.toolsThe planner was shown no tools and the executor the task’s full toolset.

Final answer

I've checked all 12 codes against RFC 9110, "HTTP Semantics" (June 2022). Every reason phrase, section number and quote below comes from https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc9110.html.

Is RFC 9110 still current? I couldn't fully confirm this. The info page https://www.rfc-editor.org/info/rfc9110 returned HTTP 404, so I couldn't check its "Obsoleted by" list or its errata. Searches turned up nothing that replaces RFC 9110. Its own header says it obsoletes RFCs 2818, 7231, 7232, 7233, 7235, 7538, 7615 and 7694, and parts of 7230.

Heuristic cacheability. Section 15.1 of https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc9110.html says codes "defined as heuristically cacheable (e.g., 200, 203, 204, 206, 300, 301, 308, 404, 405, 410, 414, and 501 in this specification)" can be reused with heuristic expiration. It adds that "all other status codes are not heuristically cacheable." So from your list:

  • Cacheable: 203, 206, 308, 405, 410, 414 and 501. Each of their own sections also says "A NNN response is heuristically cacheable."
  • Not cacheable: 303, 307, 413, 421 and 422. None of their sections says otherwise, so the list and the section texts agree.
  • 421: Appendix B.3 notes that 421 "is no longer defined as heuristically cacheable since the response is specific to the connection (not the target resource)."

Name changes. One assumption in the plan was only half right:

  • 413 really was renamed. RFC 7231 called it "413 Payload Too Large" (Section 6.5.11, https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc7231.html). RFC 9110 calls it "Content Too Large", and "Payload Too Large" no longer appears anywhere in it.
  • 422 was not renamed from RFC 7231, because RFC 7231 never defined it (the page contains no "422"). RFC 9110 Appendix B.3 says 422 was "previously defined in Section 11.2 of [WEBDAV]" and moved into RFC 9110. It's now named "Unprocessable Content". I believe WebDAV called it "Unprocessable Entity", but I didn't open that document to check.
  • 421 came from RFC 7540, and 308 from RFC 7538.

About the quotes. The page text wraps lines at fixed points, so the quotes join the wrapped lines with single spaces. I picked sentences with no hyphenated line breaks and no bracketed reference links.
