Did the design run?

every check held
  • Run completed: heldharness.run-completedThe environment was built, the architecture returned and grading finished, none of them throwing.
  • No API failures: heldharness.apiNo model call failed at the API.
  • Every call ended: heldharness.calls-endedEvery call ended with a result, or was stopped by the run's own limits.
  • No harness tool denied: heldharness.harness-toolsThe sandbox guard never denied a harness tool, nor a tool the session itself offered.
  • Tool servers connected: heldharness.mcp-connectedEvery tool server the harness gave a call was connected when the session started.
  • No foreign tool servers: heldharness.mcp-hermeticNo call loaded a tool server the harness did not give it.
  • Builtin tools: heldharness.builtin-toolsA check recorded with the run.
  • Structured replies arrived: heldharness.structured-outputEvery call that asked for structured output and ran to the end got it.
  • No silent fallbacks: heldharness.not-degradedNo phase fell back on a default (an empty plan, a default winner) instead of its output.
  • All three proposers ran: heldpropose-select.proposalsThree proposers ran in parallel, each from its own angle, and none was starved while another ran.
  • The selector chose: heldpropose-select.selectionThe selector picked a proposal by a valid number, read from its schema reply and not a default.
  • Each call was shown the right tools: heldpropose-select.toolsEach proposer was shown the read-only tools, the selector none, and the executor the full toolset.

Final answer

I cancelled reservation R3311 and gave Marcus the full $248.00 as travel credit, not as a refund to his card. The rules don't allow the card refund he asked for.

Why it's travel credit:

  • His basic economy fare can't be refunded on its own.
  • His trip insurance only refunds to the card if he cancels at least 14 days before departure. Closer than that, it turns the fare into travel credit instead. The reservation system gives today's date as 2026-07-28, which is 8 days before his 2026-08-05 flight (AA660, San Francisco to Boston), so he gets credit.
  • He's a platinum member, so the $50 cancellation fee is waived and he keeps the full $248.00.
  • Nothing had been refunded before and none of the trip had been flown, so the whole fare counted.

What I did:

  1. Checked the reservation, the refund policy, the payment record and his profile again. Everything matched what the plan expected: the payment record was empty and the flight was still scheduled.
  2. Cancelled R3311 and released the seat. I didn't touch any other booking.
  3. Issued one refund of $248.00 as travel credit to settle the cancellation (payment record entry L1).

Date mismatch: my session date is 2026-10-06, but the refund policy tool reports 2026-07-28. I used the policy tool's date, since that's the date the refund rules are checked against, and the flight still shows as scheduled.

Message for Marcus: "Your reservation R3311 is cancelled. Your basic economy fare can't be refunded on its own, and your trip insurance only refunds to your card if you cancel at least 14 days before departure. You're cancelling 8 days before your August 5 flight, so the insurance gives you the full $248.00 as travel credit instead. As a platinum member you don't pay the $50 cancellation fee. We can't put the money back on your card."
